Avocado may help reduce Cholesterol by 8-43%

New research published this year in the Journal of Clinical Lipidology has shown that the humble avocado, offers great cardiovascular benefits. A new meta-analysis incorporating 10 studies, involving 229 participants identified that the simple act of replacing some dietary fat sources (namely animal) with avocado led to significant decreases in total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

Another  randomized trial was conducted  at Dietary Department, Wesley Hospital, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

This study demonstrated that 50% of patients given ½ to 1¼ avocado's each day experienced a reduction in their total cholesterol levels of 8% - 43%.
