Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)
Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is also known as post-viral fatigue syndrome and myalgic encephalitis (ME), and its cause is the subject of controversy: it is thought by some to be caused by a viral infection (possibly herpes, polio, or Epstein-Barr), while others hold that it may be a psychological or neurological disorder, and others still that it is the result of damage to the immune system. There are recurrent acute attacks and rarely a full return to health in between. Symptoms may persist for years, aggravated by periods of stress or exertion.
Symptoms
