Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA), is a special analytical test which measures the levels of trace minerals found in a sample of hair. The sample is usually obtained by cutting a small amount of hair, (approximately 4 cm in lenght from the scalp), from the nape of the neck location. The hair sample is then prepared in a licensed clinical laboratory through a series of chemical and high temperature digestive procedures. Testing is then performed using highly sophisticated detection equipment and methods to achieve clinically reliable results.
The analysis supplies quantative data that helps provide indications to mineral deficiencies , excesses and imbalances of many esential and toxic elements.
