(ASTRAGALUS MEMBRANACEUS)

Astragalus is a popular herb used in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The first recorded use of this herb was in China 2000 years ago. It is the root of the plant that is used therapeutically. In Traditional Chinese Medicine it is believed that the herb assists all body systems, and is of particular use in illness accompanied by fatigue.

It has been found that Astragalus can help to support the immune system, however in its traditional use it is advised against using the herb in acute stage of illness. Instead it is recommended that it be used to assist the body during the convalescence stage.
