BURDOCK (Arctium lappa)

The Burdock plant has burrs that will stick to anything that brushes past it, hence its name. ‘Bur’ refers to these tenacious burrs, while ‘dock’ is an old English term for ‘plant’. The British Herbal Compendium describes Burdocks actions as depurative (an agent that purifies the blood) and mild diuretic. Particularly considering its depurative properties it is often applied for the relief of skin conditions, particularly those of a dry and flaky nature.

A traditional European herbal blood tonic which may be of assistance in the relief of dry flaky skin conditions.
